Forms to be completed
Once we decide to book an initial session, there are some forms to be filled in prior to the session to maximize your session time. These forms will be emailed out to you.
Form to be completed are: (1) Intake Form & Client Information and Services Agreement, (2) DASS 21 Questionnaire, (3) Admin Form, (4) Client Availability Form.

On the day
You will be provided with instructions on how to get to our practice prior to your appointment.

Initial Session
Generally, the first couple of sessions involve an assessment, which basically is to gather information of your life stage, goals and concerns, so we can begin to form a plan and goals for therapy. The frequency of sessions will also be discussed, and subsequent sessions booked.
In this session we also evaluate whether we are a good fit and the best service to suit your needs.

Your commitment and active involvement play a key role in the journey of mind & heart transformation. .
The process of mind & heart transformation is like a journey, in which the client is the traveler, and the therapist is a guide. As a guide, the therapist is there to provide support and guidance. However, the client is the one travelling in their journey, so the traveler plays an active role in the process
The traveler’s role is to determine how fast we can go and the depth of exploration and final destination.

  • Choose a therapist that you feel comfortable with.
  • Reflect on what you would like to achieve in therapy.
  • Engage actively in the process.
  • Share your thoughts and feelings, as you feel comfortable. If there are issues you find difficult to talk about, that can be done at your own pace.
  • It might be helpful to take notes during sessions and to use them for reflection.
  • Take time to reflect between sessions on the contend and material that has been explored.
  • Journaling could be a very helpful tool during the process of self-discovery.
  • Sessions might involve certain take-away tasks which have been formulated carefully to assist you in the process of mind & heart transformation.
  • Engaging in these tasks is very beneficial to produce positive results. Effort into these practices is highly recommended.
  • Sessions are only 50 minutes once/twice a week. The extent of effort one puts into reflection and practices between sessions greatly supports the journey.

AU$ 195 for s standard 60 min psychology consultation.
The Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of AU$ 267 for a standard psychological consultation of 25-60 minutes. However, to enable more people to access to psychological services, Citta Psychology fees are substantially less.

We suggest you discuss with your GP a Mental Health Care Plan referral (MHCP).
Medicare Rebates ($93.35 as of 2024) are available for 10 sessions in a year if referred by a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan.
Rebates are claimed on the day with Medicare.

Private Health Cover
Most private health funds will provide some level of cover for psychological treatment. The amount covered will depend on your private health fund and your level of cover. For further information please contact your health fund.
If you have private health cover, we can send you a receipt to claim from your provider.
You do not need a referral to claim rebates under private health insurance.

EAP & Workers Compensation
Citta Psychology is a provider of Employee Assistance Program services. Please contact us for more information.
Referrals under Workers’ Compensation  are also accepted.
DVA elegible

Payments are due on the day of consultation prior to the start of the session. Payments can be made by debit or credit card, or online deposit.

Concession fees are available to self-funded full-time students, holders of health care card, and by arrangement. We aim at making psychological services available to everyone. Together, we can work out the best plan for you. 

Booking deposit for initial session
When you book an initial session with Citta Psychology as a new client, your appointment is specially reserved for you. For an initial session as a new client, AU$ 50 deposit is required to secure your appointment. This is to be paid at the time of the booking. This amount is credited towards the cost of your appointment. 
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so with at least 48 hours notice so your deposit can be forwarded to a new appointment time. The AU$50 Booking Deposit is non-refundable if you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with more than 48 hours’ notice, we can allocate your Booking Deposit to another appointment date and time, however we are unable to refund.

At Citta Psychologist we have a strict non-negotiable cancellation policy (unless you provide a medical certificate), as we are often fully booked, and your appointment could be used by someone else.
Please note that there is a 48-hour cancellation policy, your appointment is specially reserved for you. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please do so with at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid paying cancellation fees.
